Gunny is a form of the beloved shinilla. Weaving term "Gunny" means double or triple plain weave, but today many people use it in a broad sense, meaning that for any matting come dyed burlap. The similarity is obvious, but true matting is not as simple as it might seem at first glance, it is much softer and more pleasant to the touch. Cloth little wrinkled and keeps its shape very well, often stronger than some other types of upholstery fabrics.
